I found myself contemplating a book that I turned to yesterday in a low mood and how it helped me to get back on track enough that I was able to go out to chair a committee meeting in the evening. I read more of it when I got home and it I found peace. I would be reading it again today, except that writing about it and making a video about it—two creative acts—have got me feeling like I can do anything I turn my mind to today. That means it’s time to catch-up with all the things that the low mood was preventing me from doing.

Your reading makes me think. "Disaffection." What for? Is it personal or citizen's? For me, as a Russian, a citizen's disaffection is more important. What a pity, I never was in Odessa, though the best Russian writers and the best anecdotes came from Odessa. It's impolite to ask what you were doing in Odessa besides reading books. I love K. Ishiguro's books. And I like your article. Thank you.
