I didn't post yesterday because I was travelling. I wasn't going to bother, but since I mentioned the new podcast I'm starting at the end of today's pages, I thought I'd include what I wrote on the boat yesterday. It's not your usual kind of fantasy book review—more of a discussion of how the magic system in the book makes me think of recovery, art, philosophy, religion, science and metaphysics. It's a topic I expect to cover more as I continue reading the trilogy, and how it also shows up in other fantasy series—because it really does!
