I remember thinking New Mexico looked hot when I watched Breaking Bad. As you say, though — no aircon in Europe! I first experienced aircon on my first trip to the USA in 1993. You even had it in cars! I’d never even heard of it.
Yes! Isn't it wild?? Although here in NM a lot of people have what's called a "swamp cooler" that just adds water to air that flows inside to make it feel cooler. This time of year the air is about 6-10 percent humidity!
6 to 10 percent? That’s really bad for guitars! On that trip I mentioned to the USA, I spent the Fourth of July in New Orleans. I’ve never been to such a humid place in my life! Stepping out an air conditioned taxi felt like opening the oven door. I suppose aircon would dry out the air in homes even more. Do people also run humidifiers?
YES!! I was in New Orleans in August once, and I can attest to the dripping humidity! "Opening the oven door" is such an accurate phrase, haha!! A lot of people do have humidifiers. We haven't bought one yet. It usually stays in the 20-25 percent range inside in the summer, so we've been able to handle it ok :)
Oh my gosh, Rupert! He’s so handsome! I’m reading The Silmarillion with Breanne’s group too. I last attempted to read it in early high school and just couldn’t get through it but I am loving it this time. Learning is very exciting.

I agree with you, the current chapters of War and Peace are boring. I don't enjoy the 'war' stuff as much as I enjoy all the drama outside of war.
